This year has been the greatest. Thanks to everyone at BP and Alan Nesbitt and Walter Simmons for seeds, I have met several goals. The first was to at least double last years 261. My next goal was and is to promote the sport/hobby by sharing seeds and what I've learned and continue to learn doing something I absolutely love. This year I cut a 608 (Nesbitt 845 x self) at 55 days and a 538 (Simmons 856 x self) day 60 and took them to Husker Harvest Days, (August 8,9 and 10), the nations largest fully irrigated farm show in Grand Island Nebraska. Another goal is to develop this site as an official weigh-off site for Nebraska and surrounding states. All help with rules and procedures is welcome. Seeds from the sibs (334 and 110) were given away and all donations were given to the Central Community College Foundation for scholarships. Seeds from the 608 and 538 will be available after harvest and drying. This was a fantastic three days in which I met a number of Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma growers and hopefully a lot of new growers for next year. I've posted a picture of the 608 and my grandson Christian and the 538 in my scant diary (3 entries).
Thanks for a great year,
