Need some advice as the pumpkin is growing very slow to the point as if it wasn't. Do I leave on the vine or cut and store till Oct. 4th. We have new leaves growing so the plant is not done. Just wondering what is the best way to try to stop the lose of weight until then. I am sure if I cut and put vines in milk jugs (with water not MILK) it will lose weight but if I leave on vine will it maintain its weight or once there done do they lose weight even when left on vine? When I decided to cut my 1032, I did it because our temps were (and are) very high and I got the possibility to keep it in a big cooler. Had the temps gone down in my area, I would have let her on the vine longer.
