950.4 weight is going to be revealed, so you can guess she is not going to Seegraben Contest. Once lifted and on the air, I could see under the pumpkin and then detected a nice blossom end split, my thumb could get into. Like a good blossom split, the hole went into the cavity. Walls were dry and healthy, but I suppose that the Juckerfarmart Contest directors wouldn't admit her.
So her official damaged weight was...
468.2 Kg x 2.2046 = 1032 lbs
Soon you will be able to see the pics of the harvest.
Ah! We measured her again after the harvest over a flat surface and her final measures were:
Circ= 179" long= 95.5" width= 98.5 OTT= 373"
So the 1032 Perez DMG was 2.7% light
Pdta: I would like her to pass over 500 Kg. But you can't get everything you want, at least this year...

Carlos, Very sorry that it split on you. Wasn't expecting that. But good that it weighed 1032 pounds!!! Thanks for giving an unproven seed a go. You've had an incredible first season with 2 fruit over 1000 pounds!!!! Just wait till next year!!!

Great job Carlos. It is a shame the pumpkin will not make it to Switzerland, but I hope that you will. You have earned a reputation as a Heavy Hitter here in Europe during your first year, many more to come, thanks for sharing with all of us. best wishes, owen

Amazing Carlos!!!!!!!!!! Your growing this year has inspired many new growers (and those in extreme heat) that they can pop the 1000 lber. with hard work and dedication. Fine job so far, and I hope the 790 continues to grow for a long, long, time! Steve

Amaizing, for a first year grower two pumpkins over 1000lb is an incredible accomplishment! Maybe if I get a horse and a pull behind plow I will break 200 lbs next year. lol.
Keep up the good work.....Tom

I am so pround of you, Carlos!!!! You have done extremely well for a first year grower. You will soon be known as the "Heavy Hitter" of Europe! European growers will be asking for your autograph as you are now a celebrity! Next time when you return to America, we will stand in awe of your first year accomplishments.
PS. You have alot of "heavy hitter" company when it comes to blossom end splits. "My kingom to someone who can stop this blight that has attacked the AG pumpkin!" :>)

Congrats Carlos! You have beat us Maritimers at our own game! Or has anyone in the Maritimes grown one as big? I am not sure what our record weight is. To think our own Howard Dill punkin's have had seed grown in Spain! and grown so wonderfully well at that! Congrats again.... Sue

Great job Carlos! That man grew 2 pumpkins over 1000lbs during a terrible hot season in the middle west of Spain with latitudes under 40: according Langevin’s books outside of the Orange zone, with a relatively short length of sunlight days during spring and summer. I propose to consider Carlos as a first heavy hitter from Europe. Paolo Ermacora

Thank you very much friends. Your pumpkins are big, but you are great. I believe that most of us are hooked in this sport for the people involved more than because of the fruits themselves.
Grow'em big!
