Did anyone else recieve an email today from InfoBigPumpkins.com that then had a message I believe to be in Swedish,German or Dutch, from Katt, Hund, Kanin that read "Hej igen! Omdu gillar djur sa maste denna skarmslackare vara na for dig. Mjou, Voff, Arf, Arf.
It had an attachment 'sd.scr" which when I tried to open said that it could not be opened because of an incurable virus.
Did anyone else experience this today, or have any idea of who could have sent this?
Please let me know, Thanks, your Goblin

its a dog virus lol arf arf!,,,sorry hehe
check the e-mail path thread to see if it came from p.b.com. good hackers can mirror a site to make it look like it came from it.

McPumpkin, How would I go about checking the e-mail path thread to see if it came from p.b.com. If it didn't, how would someone know that I visit this site. I don't want to seem naive but I don't know how this is done, or how or why someone would have access to the sites I frequent.
Can anyone here translate the message. Perhaps some of our German or Swedish members? I know that Hej= Hi but how about the rest?
And how about the attachment sd.scr that my virus shield caught as an incurable virus?
The fact is, if they or it has infilterated my email it could be a worm, (not of the pumpkin variety), that could be attacking everyone else on this board.
Not trying to sound paranoid, but the email did say [email protected] so I naturally thought it had come from here and I thought I should at least sent out an alert or a message since there is an incurable virus attached.
If anyone has any further info on this, pls post it for us all. Seems silly that a hacker would attack a site of pumpkin growers, doesn't it? your Goblin

Hey Goblin, This happens all the time. Do not open emails with attachments from [email protected] or [email protected]. Your virus did not come from this site. Shannon

Goblin,
Delete the message. It didn't come from us.
As a matter of policy we NEVER send messages with attachments unless we tell the person ahead of time. So if anyone ever gets a message from BigPumpkins.com with an attachment, delete it immediately.
Certain Viruses hijack people's email address books. Once they do the pick an address in it and send bogus messages to everyone in the list from that address. That is how they trick people into thinking that it is from someone they know.
We have taken steps to minimize this. In fact, [email protected] has been disabled because it was happening so much. You will notice, now everything is [email protected]....

DELETE DELETE , I got a virus that way, the only thing I got from Sweden. I didn't even open the attachment just because of all the virus' going around. I thought it was another member with a comment to a question, I've hit the wrong key myself before.
