Subject: too much potash caused bottom splits?

when i cut he vines,water flowed out. it was still pumping water into the pumpkin. when i rolled number 3 over the bottom was cracked and rot water ozzed out! ill post a pic. too much 0-0-60? i used a hose drip system with 40 gallon tanks. to that i would add a small handfull of 0-0-60. they would then get a 40 to 80 gallon flush. and i would only do this every 6th day. when the leaves died back,i stopped. was this too much too late? ill look for grubs.

I do not know about you McP, but I'll not use that stuff again!! Two years in a row, splits occurred within ten days of spraying my plants with it. Perhaps, it was a coincidence.

Stan, I too will not be using it again. I've had more splait that ever this year. I watch my daily growth on 20-30 day olds drop to half on some, other stopped growing all together.....concidence? think not......Bob

i think it would be a good early spring treatment,,,,mixed with other high number ferts,,,,,,,,,,
