There's a probable 1300# pumpkin in Canada sitting as I type.
This pumpkin will most likely only place 3rd in it's class from what's known to be in the area.
What on earth could be forming? Certainly looking like a new Canadien record BUT.....will the 1458 controversy be settled decisively in a few weeks?

Quite frankily I find that kind of depressing in a way. Even if I got to a new OFFICAL record weight (which there is no way)I won't even be competitive really. Thanks for putting a damper on my day Southern :0( . I'm kidding Southern. You can only hope for a PB really. That truly is amazing though. I know of several new heavy hitters coming from Ontario this year. I guess if the weather has been co-operating for me , it must be the same for other Ontario growers as well. Well it's time to re-think my fertilizing program. More,More,More.

Phil I have to agree with Southern as tough as that is......one could end up with a new personal best or beat the 1215 Canadian record and still be down the list....things here in Ontario are shaping up to be quite a year.....Phil even more depressing, if the next 2 1/2 weeks ends up being too long......

Ther is a rumor that there might be the first 1000 lb pumpkin growing in CT in 2004,that started in my head. So watch out guys. If I weigh it early Im gonna count it as official so I can be the first to ever grow a one ton giant in the state of CT. I d I also thought that if it gets a samll crack........

Please remember, one ton is 2000 (two, not one) pounds and for now is the holy grail of AG growers. One thousand pounds is only half way there.
