Just noticed a small split, in a rib about 3 inches from the stem. It's about 3/4 of an inch long, and only about 1/8 of an inch wide. It seems to go down at least half an inch. It's dry and doesn't appear to be rotting. Is there anything I can do? Can I stop the split from going any further?
This pumpkin is my personal best, and holy crap do I want it to hold on!

Does the split open into the cavity? If so, then most growers use silicon to patch the repair and let it grow. If it is not open into the cavity, then mix up some Captan and "plug" the split.

I would stop all feritilizing and watering, put a dry fungicide like captain on it and keep a fan on it to keep it dry, and keep your fingers crossed.
