My last pumpkin remaining went down last night to rot, I suspect Phytopthera. We experienced the worst growing weather ever this season. Grown on the Calai 1074, it taped out 153-89-94 for an est. 776.7# on the new chart. Too far gone to hoist and get weighed. Spent more time and money than ever this year, with nothing to show. Word is that there will be very few pumpkins at the Ohio Valley weigh-off, but there will be a few GIANTS! Good luck to all those that are still holding on to one (or more!)

Well Kilr, we had the pleasure of seeing her on the Tour. So sorry. As someone said we will have lots of company to enjoy at the weigh offs.

So kilr, you growing next year or will have to think over the winter, if you are, fumigate your soil, even if you don't have disease, still might benefit??? Take Care, Steve

I have personal reasons for taking next year off, mostly because giant pumpkins have eaten up too big of a portion of my life in the last 6 years. I haven't given up, just want to get a life again! Steve, I fumigated last Fall.
