I was wondering what kind of tarp everyone is using to get their pumpkins out? I've noticed some for sale but $70 is a little high for me and I would like to just make my own. any suggestions on how to make one and what materials to use? I need one that will lift 1,800 lbs ;-)
Thanks.

LOL!!!! Yes, I don't want to have to make more than one trip from the patch to the truck so I want to carry them all at once. ;-)

Maineiac I used a 40x40 blue tarp folded in quarters to lift my 1107exh back in 01,it worked fine with 10 or 11 people,no hand holes though!

I would carry them one at a time so they wouldn't push against each other and possibly split.
to add handles to a tarp- add grommets (the litte metal hole)to the tarp(Walmart sells grommet kits) run a rope through the hole add a piece of 6 in pvc pipe for a handle. if you don't want to add grommets then you can use a golf ball (or a rock or a pine cone or whatever) and ball the tarp around it and tie the rope to it. would a picture help ? if so i'll take one of the one i made.

Maineiac, $70 bucks isn't bad for a professional grade tarp! Couple seasons ago, I went to Home Depot for a good canvas tarp, then to the marine store for some web material (like seat belts) then to the sail maker for stitching it all together...and it's safe to say I spent more than that !!! Live and learn. Duff
