I think WE will won't. But our children would. I am 13 years old, so when I will be over 60, maybe 2000lbs would be avarage-size?

It wasn't that long ago that no one thought we'd see a 1000 pounder!

will someone ever run a mile in under 4 minutes? will an aircraft ever go faster than the speed of sound? not to long ago we wondered if we'd get to 1,000 lbs. for several years we were stuck in the 800-900 lb region.
over the past few years the heaviest have been
2002- 1337 Houghton 2001- 1262 Emmons 2000- 1140 Stelts 1999- 1131 Checkon 1998- 1092 Burke 1997- 997 Andersen 1996- 1061 Zehr 1995- don't remember this one- off hand. under 1000 anyway 1994- 990 Bax 1993- 884 Black 1992- 827 Holland
i think well reach 2,000 lbs. ... it's just a matter of time. when is the question??? it seems like we have busted out through 1000 lbs and continute on. It has taken 6 years to go from 1000 to 1300 - that's an average of 50 lbs a year. at this same rate it will be 13-14 more years till we reach 2,000 lbs. I guess the weights could level off- you'd think they'd have to eventually... but we haven't seen it yet... and i don't think we will over the next few years.

I've been thinking about this this year, to reach 1500 pounds you would have to be around 1200 pounds at the end of august, and when pumpkins grow that fast their walls just don't have time to develope so you know that those walls have got to be very thin. So if you get any kind of deformity you can forget about it, that suckers probably gonna split. But then if you get one to 1500 lbs est., it's probably gonna be light. I think it's going to be a lot harder than we think to reach 1500 pounds and its gonna take 5 to 10 years. Then to get 2000 pounds you would probably have to get over 1000 pounds growth in the month of august. Thats is a lot of growth..............

my comparitvly little pumpkin did 519 lbs in 1/2 a month and weighed heavey so if you get the right genetic combonation to grow fast, (like don's in spain) long (heard of some growing for 90 days)and heavey (some went as high as 26% heavey) it can be done. but i feel it will come in a climate with longer hotter growing seasons. such as spain, austraila or southren states, or maybe in a hot house

Someday humans may have colonies on the moon. Imagine what the record would be there(considering the gravity difference of course)
