First of all, I want to dedicate my 1036 pumpkin to Chris Gregory and his lovely wife Barbie with all my best wishes to them. They are great persons of an incredible charm and helped and cheered me up a lot.
Second, I would like to say thanks to so many kind people that the list would be too long. First, to all of you that use to often write here, in the BP.com, like Ben Boyton (for instance), and the webmasters; forgive me for not mention one by one. Then to some other growers that don't use to write here but helped me with their fine advices too, like Geneva Emmons, Joel Holland, Jake van Kooten, Todd Kline, Al Eaton, Darrell Walters, Bob Liggett, Steve Daletas, Jack LaRue, Tim Bailey, Pete Glasier, Steve Thorson... And finally to all of you that kindly shared your seeds with me last winter.

That success of mine absolutely is the result of a team job, where all of you have had some part. With only the seeds and hard work, I wouldn't have got anything to mention. The truth is that my only merit has been to have looked for the best teachers and follow their advices in so many big and little details. Like Isaac Newton said, “we can see far away because we are over giant’s shoulders” (or something similar).
I want to say too that is an honour to belong to the Giant Pumpkins Brotherhood, where human beings from all over the World meet together to help one each other, to share everything which is in our hands with any other fellow grower. When I talk about BP.com or about our sport with friends and family, I always remark the big number of countries involved and communicated: USA, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, England, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain.
This friendship takes us, people from so many, different, far countries and languages closer to the only person we all are.

Carlos I agree with your thoughts but: I did not find any grower from Slovakia – maybe I miss-looked – but in Slovenia we do have a small but growing pumpkin community. Thanks to Paolo (ermacora67) who introduced me to AG last year.

PS: Slovakia definitely has a great potential for AGs so I hope there are growers too!

Urban Jungle,
My biggest apologize, for I wanted to write Slovenia; my mistake. But I was thinking in you with your bear, your nice dog and your roof full of leaves, as your 3D garden is clear in my mind (it is one of the most originals you can find in this site)

Nothing personal at all Carlos because it happens all the time that people mix Slovenia and
Slovakia… for everybody who doesn’t know: Slovenia was the most northern republic of ex Yugoslavia and Slovakia was a part of former Czechoslovakia.

Thanks for the compliments about the garden. In spite that I will not reach even my last year’s weight it was still an enjoyable thing to have such a plant in the garden!
