O.K. guys, we've ALL heard about injecting pumpkins with milk, so much to the point that I have reached the point where I block the question out of my mind. Here's the latest "twist". On the job today, I was approached by someone whom said he heard that if you pick the petals of a pumpkin blossom, and stick the rest of the flower in a bowl of milk, the plant will drink the milk, resulting in HUGE pumpkins! Which one of you "cronies" out there thinks this stuff up?
All out of milk,

kilr

is it possible for the flower end to absorb liquid nutrients?

That's a good one, my neighbor still insists that you need to inject steroids into the vine to grow a big pumpkin even though I probably have the largest one he has ever seen in my patch.

Would this be similar to injecting hormones into the vine? LOL

Huh...When I was little, many moons ago...LOL, my mother said she sent me to water her flowers and looked out to see me with my little pail dunking their heads! Of course no one believed they could get water this way (only me) But...if plants can absorb nutrients through their leaves..who knows...maybe through the flowers too???? Wouldn't that look funny if the neighbours caught us watering our pumpkins this way?? They would really believe we had "lost it" not just suspect it. LOL ROTFLMAO
