i believe they would be one and the same, although i have never heard the term "sunsplits". i would expect cantalouping to be caused by very mature skin that is still trying to expand due to fruit growth, splitting and cracking, and the fruit healing itself as the entire process is still taking place...one thing's for sure, it helps-out in the loading of the fruit--it's easier to get a grip on the fruit! lol 'pal
