For all you members of the Atlantic Giant Genetics Cooperative, You should write to Mike Nepereny as to he is only going to allow "One" Pumpkin over 500lbs to be entered into his data this year. This will make it harder on all of us growers to find hot seeds. If a guy grew three pumpkins from the same seed and he had weights of 1,290lbs, 1,159lbs and 1,193lbs we will only be able to check out the 1,290 pound pumpkin that the grower grew. The same goes if the same guy grew three different seeds for the abouve weights. Mike is also looking for any input on his changes. So all you growers out there, write to Mike PumpkinBrat

Brat, I also would like to see everything in there. I don't know how much space he has. Is his server filling up too fast? I guess I'm pretty naive on these matters. Why the rule change?

i don't know - i'm just asking... but are you sure it's not UNDER instead of OVER ?
I know in the past he has requested the data be on fruit over 500 lbs only - but has put the data in for under 500 lb fruit also.

Brat,
That is not how I read the rules. Maybe you should go read it again.

Brat, Here is what I see under "2003 AGGC Entry Form Guidelines"
1. Only entries over 500 pounds will be accepted... Without this restriction in place, I would be flooded with information on 200-300 pound pumpkins..."
It's not "ONE" entry over 500 but "ONLY" entries over 500 lbs. I read through the rest of the rules and did not see anything referencing only one allowed.
If it is there, please point out specifically where so we know what exactly to address with Mike.
Thanks.

Brat, The AGGC site seems clear and states "Only entries over 500 pounds will be accepted". Not really sure where you're reading the only "one" over 500 pounds statement? Joe P.

i RECEIVED A E-MAIL ABOUT THIS. I READ THE POST ON A.G.G.C. FAST. AFTER REREADING IT. I WAS WRONG AND MADE THE MISTAKE ON HOW I READ IT. SO THE 2003 GUIDE LINES ARE JUST PUMPKINS OVER 500 POUNDS AND YOU CAN ENTER AS MANY AS YOU WANT TO. SORRY MY MISTAKE

Thank goodness... I hope to have 4 that qualify to be entered into the AGGC. It was one of my goals this year to get a pumpkin in there. Mike Frantz

It was my goal to, but it won't happen. Is there a catagory for most pumpkins blown up on one plant? I'm now at 8 & that's where it will stay as it was my last fruit. I NEVER got a fruit past 12 days before it exploded. I'll make a few final post in my diary this week to explain it............Paul

Someone ELSE submitted a bunch of my pumpkins under 500#,a few years back, that I would never have submitted myself. I also had the same est. pumpkin listed as 2 different fruits when the new est. charts came out. These may be SOME of the problems Mike is experiencing. He is doing one hell of a job! Huff, hold back on the dynamite!

Yep, all the changes I come seeing in the AGGC.com are always for better. This great, awesome, wonderful, breathtaking, adictive site is being improved from day to day. With Ken and John, Mike is doing the best job in the AGP World from Howard Dill, no doubt.

You say you have to be a member to access the pumpkins genetics on this sight(Atlantic Giant Genetics Cooperative)? How do you go about becoming a member so you can access this information?

Adam, Mail $5.00 to:
Mike Nepereny 120 Cedar Way Cleveland, GA 30528
Mike also accepts Pay Pal which is cool. See this page for details. It may be the best $5.00 a grower ever spent.
