I don't remember ever seeing an update on Fred Calai's health. How is he doing? I hope he is out in the patch working on some more of his outstanding crosses.

Fred was at the Ohio Tour activities in good spirit. My distinct pleasure to just be a boy on a log beside this gentleman.

Joel was filming during the Ohio Tour. I'll take a one on ten bet that Fred's smile and kind words will be in that video!

You know sitting with Fred for a few moments would seem like being able to sit at the right hand of God in real life. My observation: The bigger and more experienced they were the more honest and humble they became. His apparent enjoyment of my presence came when I recalled how worried I was when my first leaf folded up and died. He laughed an honest understanding smile and it was good.

Joel was unable to film in Fred's patch as he had just been released from the hospital where he had a "defibrolator"
placed in his chest. He barely had enough energy to attend the "festivities" on the Ohio tour.
