I posted a picture in my diary of a big one I lost to a blossum end split. It went down on Aug. 13. I wanted to leave it on the vine for the Central Wisconsin patch tour yesterday. I went to get the seeds out today and noticed that the walls were very thick, so I decided to weigh it. It taped out at 305.5 inches OTT. Estimated weight 674 lbs. Actuall weight was 778.5 lbs. Now I realize just what a great pumpkin I lost, as it was on pace to tape out at 860 lbs or so today, then add the 100 extra over the chart...........Could of been a good one.

On my chart 305" OTT is only 583, I'm using the 2003 chart, what chart are you using? Sounds like it might have even weighed heavier?

It was a big pumpkin. He has an impressive patch. Very neat and tidy. I think I remember seeing Casey with a tape measure in this patch.

Great pumpkin and can I add 33% on my 301 OTT (56l lbs)? Please tell us what chart you used and is the OTT accurate?
I'll contact in the off season for trading.

I think that much depends on the type of ground your pumpkins are planted in. We have here a loam-clay soil. The last 5 pumpkins i grew were on average 16.8% heavier than the charts, ranging from +9% to +22%. I use the charts of the 2nd book of Don Langevin.

Ok, I made a mistake and posted the OTT from the day it split (Aug 13 305 OTT). I cut it up on Aug 24 and the final OTT was 322.5 which is 674 lbs est. The seed was the 714 Bobier. I appologize for the confusion.
