I'm a 1st timer and was wondering what some of you grew on the first year. I have one that weighs 113 according to the OTT chart and I'm tickled pink. I mean orange. LOL

430 pounds.....but it was with a good seed(Mettler 865) and alot of luck! The next year, I thought I knew it all....and failed miserably! So my unsolicited advice, is to listen carefully to the successfull growers and then "do what they do"!! There are no "shortcuts" in this sport!

Since I let our home plants overheat in their enclosures (5 times over 105*F & 2 times over 115*F) during the first 3 weeks in May, our largest will be at my son's school.
Currently taping at est 177 Lbs. It's a really ugly pumpkin too. LOL But I don't think the kids will mind.
We live we learn.
