My son & I were having the best day ever. Jamming on the Bethel CT Super BMX track after getting the job done. Until he bad landed some air, wiped bad & broke his arm in 2 places. I've never felt so helpless. Called 911 & they offered assistance in 15-20 minutes. I asked them to hold the line while I drove to Danbury Hospital myself in 10 minutes. Broke every law in the book a half dozen times at least with their escort trying in vain to catch & pass me.

While he won't be coming with us as planned on Thurday, the tour goes on.

If folks would like to offer up any words of encouragement or prayers, I promise to read them all to him. He's only 6.

It's been a long day. God bless the health care professionals in this country. I don't know if I could handle the ER all day every day.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your son Steve. When i was his age i was playing football and broke my arm right below the shoulder. It heeled quick and good, at that age kids seem to bounce back really good.

Hey, Steve son, cheers, it will passed soon and your arm will be stronger than ever.
Hear me: I had a cat with a leg broken in two places, because long ago, when young, he was inside a car when I started it and the ventilator catch him. He was taken to the animal hospital and got a titanium bar into his leg. Well, after a month he began to run and jump again. Now he is 14 years old (not bad for a country cat), has no teeth almost and is blind, but still jumping to the trees and the roofs better than any other of my cats.

Sorry to hear of the mishap but with my sons (3) it was all part of growing up and experiencing the thrills of being a adventurous boy. Between the BMX. skateboarding, go karting, snowboarding and skiing they have 2 broken wrists, broken arm, 2 broken collarbones and a broken foot and numerous other visits to the orthopedic surgeon. They are all completely healed and have NO problems.
Best of luck to you and your son during the recovery period. My guess is that the cast will be off in 6-8 weeks. Take care Steve Tom

My son broke his arm on a skate board. Even though it is very scary initially, things will calm down in a day or two.
Let's hope and pray that it heals "straight".

It doesn't slow kids down at all. My husband was the oldest of 4 boys. He had 4 broken bones growing up. He also broke his brother's collar bone wrestling. Never a dull moment with 4 boys.
