All pumpkins are differant,i,ve had a couple grow right up to the end of sept 90 days or so ,others stop at 70 to 80,it really depends on the pumpkin! near the end when there only growing 4 or 5 lbs a day,you might not see any measurment change,it might take 3 or 4 days to see 1" in circ.Hope this helped.John

John............the last ten days of darkness has a lot of pumpkins thinking it is fall. Mine are sleeping at low pounds per day today. This week promises sun. Bring on the sun or these girls may mature early this year.

I think also if you apply a high potash fert like 0 0 60 too early the pumpkins will mature faster, I think this is my problem.

When you count growing days, is that the time from the actual pollination of the pumpkin or the age of the plant? Thanks Ben for the warning...so far my potash remains in the bag. I am only using 20 20 20.

Time is from pollination to the day mentioned. After awhile you pin point desirable event days or weeks. Like pollination desired first week of June and so forth.

Duh....(I had a blonde moment) All I had to do was figure out our growing season here to know that the 90 days would be the age of the pumpkin. (Now I feel really silly) (Desert Storm blushes in embarassement)

That about settles this thread. The senior quarum can do or say any damn thing they think of. Every one here knows you are nuts and the rest of the world throws discounts to entertain your wallet. Don't make financial sense to me so I wander wondering who is nuts.

If you came to my coffee shop I'd have a cup with a gold name on it, charge you top buck for limp coffee and expect an 18% tip for the server. Why discount the owners of the circus when it is the clowns who have no money?

I heard that Bill Clinton expects a senior discount while in retirement. Cripes....makes me sick to the belly!
