            | Urban Farmer (Frantz) | No Place Special | Mine stopped growing at around 300 lbs. I measure tonight and if it still measures the same I plan to cut and weigh it. I have an open pollination from Thursday that i may try to grow. Best of luck everyone. This 840 has been tough on many growers this year. | 8/17/2003 11:30:22 AM |

            | WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR | So. Maine | My 840 is about 145 lbs. It's growing slow after 7 in. of rain in August. Fruit was set July 23. Soil is wet and compacted,so I don't expect much. | 8/17/2003 10:44:33 PM |

            | Pumpkin_lover | Wroclaw, Poland (51 N, 17 E) | And I had very bad luck. My little 840 Desrosiers pumpkin stoped growing when it was only 15 lbs and it had rotten. I thought that there will be more pumpkins on it, but I can't see any female flowers to polinate. | 8/18/2003 4:05:32 AM |

            | dincubus | Aberdeen, SD | just got my 840 polinated. it is because of my bad luick earlier in the season and my late start | 8/18/2003 2:03:31 PM |

            | brentw(2) | | My 840 is growing well... slow and steady as noted in my journal.
I am curious if some folks are growing the 840 just for fun or if they are legitimately in the 840 contest. Al (WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR), are you in the contest? I don't recall seeing any journal entries.

Of course I understant they may be under another name just as mine are under BrentW,... not BrentW(2). I am just trying to keep things straight as to who is in and out.

            | Sequoia-Greg | porterville, calif. | I had 1 fruit set last week on the 840 D. Looks like it is going to abort. But tonight i found one i didn,t know was there. Looks like it is going to grow. There is 4 or 5 more females setting now too. Just if the heat doesn,t get them I might have 1 or 2 get to 100lbs or more. The plant is really growing now. I need to do some prunning there..Greg | 8/19/2003 2:28:47 AM |

            | WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR | So. Maine | Brent, I'm growing it but never set up a jurnal, only updated on this page when someone asked about the 840. Busy, busy busy. Oh well. | 8/20/2003 1:10:56 AM |
