            | Plateman | Cranston, Rhode Island | I'm now at day 16 with with a circumference of 60 ". It's starting to grow so fast that I'm feeling a little anxiety and nervous when I look out my bedroom window in the morninghoping not to see the fruit in two halves. My question is what are the best practical methods to help in preventing a catastrofic split. I haven't used any chemical ( synthetic )
fertilizer for 2 1/2 weeks now because I wanted to reduce the chance of females aborting. I hand pollinated three females within a week of each other and all have set.
I'm only using fish emultion and seaweed extract for now.
 Thanks,
 Will

            | MR. T. (team T) | Nova Scotia | if you already have not been doing so gradually start to water daily until you water a lot everyday (this will stop a large rain fall from blowing you out p.s. not at evening) second you should be fertilizing again gradaully and fertilize weak solutions daily not one batch a week like recommended. lastly have some soft material under it like sand in a large bowl shape to disperse weight evenly. there is also something like gypsum some growers put on there's not sure what though. don't worry to much you can do 6" circumfrence a day with no worries. | 8/5/2003 3:10:39 PM |
