            | Cheese Wiz | San Luis Obispo Ca | My Ag is only averaging about 5" a day. It has been set for 18 days and is 42/34/33 is that good? First time at this so need a little help. What do I feed it, I am going with 18/19/30 once fruit set. Had been 20/20/20 up until now. I feed every week water soluble. 1 TBLS per gallon. Help! | 7/28/2003 10:56:19 PM |

            | Pumpkin_lover | Wroclaw, Poland (51 N, 17 E) | I think you should look at other growers diarys and see how big are their pumpkins. | 7/29/2003 5:54:39 AM |

            | JeffL | Dillsburg, PA | Cheese, I take it that your circumference is 42" at day 18. I have read for a big one you should be at 60" at day 20.At 5" per day that takes you to just over 52 inches. I think your measurements are pretty good but alittle behind at this time. These things grow at different rates so be patient and see what happens. My measurment on day 15 was 44" so might be close to 60" at day 20.I just want to get to the 60" mark and see what happens from there.Good luck | 7/29/2003 9:06:41 AM |

            | AndyMan | Lake Elmo, Minnesota | For my own clarification, the circumference is measured stem to blossom -- parallel to the ground??? I had initially measured stem to blossom perpindicular to the ground | 7/29/2003 2:32:43 PM |

            | Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings | Menomonie, WI ([email protected]) | Circumference is the measurement parallel to the ground completely around the pumpkin. There is a good article on this in the how to section. | 7/29/2003 4:04:14 PM |

            | Cheese Wiz | San Luis Obispo Ca | My other pumpkin is just now getting ready to set a pumpkin. Thank God we in Cal have long growing season. Or do we? | 7/29/2003 7:45:59 PM |

            | Suzy | Sloughhouse, CA | Yes, we do have a long growing season in CA. You have to worry about frost in San Luis or high heat unless you are on the other side of Cuesta Grade toward Paso Robles. Good luck your first year. | 7/30/2003 2:23:06 AM |
