Heres a pic of my 75 Glover. Its dying from stump outward.Disease? I thought so,,now I'm confused.I found the stump rotting this morn.Tons of rain here for last month.Raining now..I hate rain. Also,,had to remove a fruit from it 2 days ago.About 1-2 ft in front of where fruit was has a whitish puddle of gel looking stuff..On a secondary in front of where fruit was also has a gel substance.Where this stuff is,,2-4 leaves just dye on spot.I figured I blew the vines out by removing fruit.. Can some one tell me if its disease,or from the stump rotting making me loose the plant??Heres a link to pic.. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=11998

sorry to hear about your plants... lots of water (rain) can certainly give you problems...
to me it looks like it might be: Downy Mildew http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/cucurbit/leaf/14.1.html Gummy Stem Blight http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/cucurbit/leaf/17.2.html
here is a place where you look at other possiblities also http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/cucurbit/

Jeff,
Some of my plants look like yours and I don't know what the problem is. Those viewing please go to Jeff's post then to the attached site and look at his plant.
I'm thinking "consumption". At one time when it was unknown what a person died of they called it consumption. This might be a combo of excessive water, chemical burn (mine was daconil), too much sun while spraying, etc.
If anyone can help please let us know. Thanks

I have been warned and warned about to much water and fertilizer through out our excessive wet season. The conditions still linger. I am hardly feeding at all and sometimes still have to much rain. My sandy loam and good drainage may be saving me.
If you fellows have been in the same patch for a couple of years that is suspect too. It has not been a nice spring and early summer for a lot of growers. Last week it was a genuine twister that raised the ruckus.
