How many days old does a pumpkin need to be, before the chances of it aborting are remote?

I had one abort at day 18....really made me mad.
But in general, you can tell after 3-4 days. If they are still shiny and growing you did well. Thats for pollination set.
A fruit can abort through the season up until maturity. I'm not sure when a fruit is considered mature(dont confuse with growth), but for me I would say 40-45 day, longer in cooler regions.
Hope this helps.
