How big do you let the pant get? Do you just let it grow or do you cut the end off? If you cut the end off how long do you let it grow before doing that? Also do you do the same to the secondary? And how long do you let them grow? I’m just looking for average answers.

every plant grows different and has to be treated differently but an ideal size to most is side vines 14' each way and main 30'. but you'll find many people like different things. mine this year was main 30' side vines 10' each way and got a 900lbs (would have gone 1100 if not for problems.) hope this helps

My decision was to have about 500 sq. ft. to support the one pumpkin per plant I would eventually select for the grow. All my vines will be terminated by tomorrow or the next day. Therefore my patch is about 1000 sq. ft.

Plant size? is a hard question to deliver about I guess. One way to think in could be: Wich pumpkin has been the best of all times with difference? : 1337.6 Houghton, of course. How was her mother plant size?: 550 sq ft.
Well, for me there isn't a better answer to the question so far.
