Has anyone else gotten that "report" yet?

After the exclamation point there is supposed to be another quote mark. I am uncertain how "&qu" got there. Sorry.

When I start talking about my pumpkins or going out to the patch, my husband just rolls his eyes. But I still go there anyway.

We have to plan our weekends around the patch. If it's pollination time, all other plans are null and void!

Just answer back.."OK I'll quit, but I'll be spending more time at the bar/golf course/fishing with my buddies". Then run like hell, before the items around the house start flying.

When you go and pick up fertilizer for the Pumpkin remember to stop by and buy something for her. Preferably not a hoe, or new sprayer. If that don't work start laying around on the couch watching the t.v. all day, making yourself a cozy little nest. Last but not least make her feel like she is more important than the pumpkins themselves. (April if you read this you know I love you.)

My time spent with my pumpkins is talked about a lot at our house. Most of the time its good talk, once in a while its complaining. My wife is slowly starting to realize that this is an addiction. I'm trying to get her hooked. Deano

I may have a very serious problem here. It seems my neighbor's grand daughter (attractive blonde dancer)
has a "coworker" living with her. Our patch is partly in their yard. Yet the grand daughters apartment is on the other side of the house & she sleeps all day so I only occasional see her. But the "co-worker" walked by the slider door yesterday while I was cutting the grass. I think she was "practicing". I almost cut off my foot. I did run right into the stairs (much to her amusement!)
The problem is the new deck they have. Seems the "co-worker" likes being awake in the day time. But she clearly does not like wearing clothes. And she doesn't like (or have) tan lines.

My hours in the patch might soon be monitored if the Mrs finds out about our new neighbor! ;-)

Well things worked out well for me. Completely ignored her last year so she joined me in growing this year. only problem is she got all the best seed and now I have to get more equipment as any time I want to work in the patch she hogs the fert jug, sprayer, hose, tape measure etc. etc.

I hope I haven't created a monster...

I've been lurking here for 3 years, but had to chime in on this one! I spend soooo much time in the patch that I don't have time for a Mrs. pumpkin head. These pumpkins will turn me into a hermit for sure. OR, maybe a will find a Miss pumpkin head that would join me in my obsession? Tattoos, no teeth, 300lbs over weight? But you say you have some 845 seeds? Come on over baby! Interested females please respond with pictures of your 845 seeds!

The blonde has McIntosh's. The new one is brunette & much younger. I'd say grapefruit. Saw her again tonight. Black tights. Yikes! This time I had to speak with her & her cousin (a guy). Since we're leaving on vacation for a week at midnight tonight. I figure it's best they keep an eye on this place. Lord knows I watch theirs!

Hey. Since we're going to be away next week anyway, by all means stop by for a peek. Please stay on the boards. The hoe is hanging in the greenhouse & it's not locked. Weeds go in the compost pile. If no one is there, head south 1.2 miles to the light at US1 & turn left. 600 yards after the first light look to your right & your at the club.

Our place is a bloody landmark & most CT growers know where it is anyhow. If not. Call Lesco. 203-375-6900 They'll tell you.

Watch your step tomorrow though. I just got finished nuking the patch with Capture, Mancozeb, & Eagle for the long week ahead.

Oh. And there's a female that will open Thursday of Friday about 18' out on the 707 Toftness that will need pollinating if you guys don't mind. Just don't drool on the lobes please.

You all might be wondering why I'd disclose all this in a public forum. But no one calls a spade a spade like I do & our alarm system is utterly amazing. Plus the girl who is staying here in our absence knows how to dial 911. And she's in the grape category so don't even think about it.

I hope everyone has a great week.

The marriadge worst thing on this sport of ours is not the time we pass working in the patch. My wife has no problem with it, she has other things to do while. The big concern appears when your body is close to her, your eyes looking, your mouth speaking to her, but your mind is some hundred yards away in the middle of the green, thinking if it would be better to keep that fruit from the 4th, or that one from the 12th; to fertirrigate today or tomorrow; to cull that side vine or to let it grow... (or what is going to not wear the blondy dancer-:)
Solution: tell her: "Do not worry much baby, next summer we shall travel".

No one here to make me do anything. Im well enough to go back to work. I had to stay away from lifting things, but i do have pumpkins growing. To keep from getting bored while i was off i bought me a Yellow Lab. She was 6 weeks old. She really kept me busy. Last weeek i made a trip to fresno to a ball game with my girls. I brought Freedom with me. We spent the night then headed home . i stopped at a reststop to give here some water. I had her on a retractable leash. I was getting her water ready she saw another day across the road at the rest stop. Before i could react she darted under a Big rig and was killed. She was almost 4 months old. That leash was 16ft long, before i could lock it she was under that truck .Broke my heart, now im alone again. So I have all the time i need to be in my garden and pumpkin patch.

"you talk to your pumpkins more than you talk to me"! uh-huh."you never listen to me"! huh? "we never do things together anymore". sure we do. just last week i helped you shovel the mini-van full of manure. "you buy things for that pumpkin and nothing for me"! didn`t i get you a new manure shovel of your own for our anniversary? "some day you`ll come home and i won`t be here". yes dear, and while you`re out can you get another trunk full of manure.

Hey, what about us wives who try to grow. I hand water when need. IF I see a wilted leave I hand mist two times a day. I miracle grow every day and spray for bugs once a week. I found myself talking to my pumpkins this morning But my husband was at work so he don't know about the other three men in my life(Sir Ken,Mr.Beachy and my Darling Culley! Sorry Captainsummers, no tatoo and I have all my teeth!

don`t get me wrong... my wife helps me with the patch. all i had to do was run the water valve over next to the pool so she wouldn`t have to get up to turn on my misters. i asked her to open it every time she turned over on her back and turn it off when she rolled over onto her belly while sunbathing. heee haaaw
