I know this really has little to do with giant pumpkin growing but i figure that more poeple will reply in the general discussion message board. Anyways, what other hobbies do you have besides growing giant pumpkins? I play the drums, guitar, baseball on a team, and for some reason i find paleontology really interesting.

I do lots of flower gardening. I was in the music program (marching, symphonic, and jazz bands) at my school but now I'm graduated. I also have pet turkeys that I raise (not for eating).

Repairing old Peugeot cars (when necessary of course), underwater fishing, drinking beer and I am afraid that my job is becoming a hobby! You can guess why…

Cooking and eating mostly. Mounting my hawg cooker on a trailer now and working on an upright smoker to go with it...woo hoo....I feel like such a redneck. I do some canning every summer and make a batch of homebrew from time to time.

I used to build model rockets and belong to a rocket club when I was younger but I didn't think kids did that stuff anymore. I can tell you from experience that being a member of a rocket club doesn't score too many points with the ladies. Neither does the math or chess clubs....I've tried those too.

I'll stop before I soil your thread:)

Landscaping/gardening, model rockets, and weather - I have a computerized weather station with a lightning detector.

Svichb is right, these are things that don't gernerally attract the ladies so I began doing all of these things after I finished grade school and had already met my future wife. Now that I have a 2 year old son there are a number of other 'hobbies' I can get into, like pulling out my old AFX race car set - naturally it's for the benifit of my son not me ;-)

Im in a Mastergardening program here. I put alot of time in helping other people learn to garden. I have written some articles for the newspapers here on different subjects about gardening. (I have a great editer who fixes all my spelling mistakes)I also work with kids teaching them how to grow things. I like to camp, fish, play baseball also watch it. But being outside in the yard and enjoying what nature has done is what keeps me going. Greg

I have been a ham radio operator since 1979: callsign KA1DAX. I also like to fish but that went to hell when I took up this hobby. I race NASCAR 2002 online and I am an avid ice fisherman in the winter with my best catch being a brown trout of 6.92 lbs. right in front of my camp. Fish 30 years and catch the big one right out front of home..go figure..Oh yeah, did I mention I have a masters from the Budweiser school of hops and barley..hehe

MY garden is 50ft by 50ft and if it were up to my husband, well ........ let's just say I only have those veggies so he doesn't think I spend too much time with my beloved pumpkins. Oh ya I love to salt water or lake water fish and do stuff with the kids.....Flora

swaintech can I send you a picture of a fossil I found and maybe you could help by telling me what it is. I collect rocks.
I garden rare plants, flowers, veggies, AV's, etc.
I raise Chihuahua's and Poodle's.
My Mysti (11 yo) pet poodle died in my arms yesterday.
I fish, camp, ride ATC's, love the outdoors (in a trailer)
I love taking 4x4 rides for a few days of trail rides on roads that haven't been traveled for a few years. Checking out old abandoned mines and everything.
I draw for rubber stamps. I've sold some of my artwork out of a gallery. So I love to draw, paint, read, and do all arts and crafts.
I am now disabled so I have slowed down a whole lot on all the things I enjoy to do. Some things I no longer do.

Fishing and hunting seem to take up much of my time when I'm not growing giants. My wife thinks I should spend more time working on the honey-do-list, but when I have some spare time I will try to get around to it.
