I had some secondary vines damaged on my plants from wind yesterday. Now I have some open spots. Should I allow some tertiaries to grow to fill the void or continue to prune them?

Mark, I think I would allow some tertiaries to fill in that voided area. Hate to have open areas..Joe P.

I had one of the biggest leaves break almost in two today by high wind. I don't know if this will work or not but so far the leaf has not wilted. TO put it back together I duck taped a stick to it then taped the stem and stick to another stick I had pushed in the ground. Tomorrow when the sun comes out I hope to have found another use for duck tape, Pumpkin bandaids!

We get some high winds here too and I found the best way to protect the plant is to bury all vines to the hilt so they can hang on and root down. The leaves themselvs take the wind very well it's the sailing off with the vine that hurts!!!
