Does it matter if the female you pollinate has a stem that goes more vertical than horizontal? Will it get more horizontal as the pumpkin grows, and should I support as the weight of the pumpkin makes the stem come down so it doesn't snap? I think when I made the S curves, the vine got twisted and that's why the stem is so vertical.

gravity will bring it down...no problem. Just keep it on the outside of the S turn.

Brigitte - How long ago was the pollenation?
Sometimes these girls don't come down for a few days (or 5)

It was just this morning. If it's still up in a week I'll start worrying. :-)
