i made the mistake of taking off the leaves around my female blossums along with the secondaries and tendrils when the blossums were about 4 days from opening. i took away their shade protection from the sun and the extreme heat and half of them got cooked. the ones i lost were on side vines which doesn't break my heart. i would have been really pissed it it affected the females on my mains. the female blossum just loses it luster, gets dimply, and dies before it ever gets a chance to be pollinated. now i have placed some laundry baskets over my blossums for shade protection leading up to pollination day and leave them on until my tarps go up after a successful set. with most of the nation getting heated up, i would hate to see someone lose some golden opportunites by making the same mistake as myself.

I set a plastic white lawn chair over my females as soon as I see them to protect them from the sun. I leave it there until the tarps go up like u.
