For what its worth I had a very good pollination in 94 plus temps with shade and letting one stream of my sprinkler hit the pumpkin all day on very low. This method appeared to work last year. Seems alot easier than ice. You set up youre sprinler on like a 6 inch arc, prop it up to the correct angle, stake it or pile dirt underneath and its off to the beach.

Yes, shade and evaporate cooling is what I am using and not bad pollination rate I got. 100 % so far. (Cross fingers).

Hope you fellows are right because I believe my misting system knocks out up to twenty five degrees. Evaporative cooling! No noticable heat stress in hundred degree days.
On at eleven for half hour on the hour through four PM. Keeps my sandy loam moderately damp and the leaves relieved. You can see the system in my diary if you wish. It would be the pix about 80 to 88. Drip Works in California designed the output. I created the rack and made it work.

David I think what you are doing will work for me. I will be using your method in about a week... Greg

My misting system filled the flower with 2 dcl of water (the 6-lober on the roof from my diary). I thougt the flower with all the pollen has drowned but it was pollinated successfuly! Jernej
