Hi all, Along with a set female on the main vine a secondary vine is now coming out at the same node. With knife in hand the secondary was almost history. I then thought the secondary will also provide living liquid to the fruit. Should I try to maintain the secondary as long as possible or severe it now????

Cut it. The bigger it gets the more rigid the main vine will be. It will also cause damage to the fruit. No since of wasting energy growing leaves that you are going to cut off.

Ever grow tomatoes? Some of the "sucker" branches were very big when I removed them, and now the main branches at those nodes are yellowing and falling off. Moral of the story, remove them when they're small, or not at all.
