Does the shape of the immature pumpkin at the time of pollination mean anything when it comes the the future shape of the pumpkin? My 845 Bobier is showing very uniformly round pumpkins beneath the blossom. What if anything does this mean? My other plants (this year as well as years past) have shown a more semi-oblong oval shaped pumpkin.

i don't think it matters a great deal the over all shape as long as there are no dips or funny looking shapes (form into dill rings) mine this year looked like a foot ball and went 900lbs but many people will say that you need a high round fruit for the best pumpkin.

The fruit on my 845 is shaped the same way Brian, perfectly round. I'm used to seeing oblong fruit.
