I live in Decatur, Illinois, which is about in the center of the state. Is there anyone (Hopfully a group of at least 3 or 4) in about a 150-180 mile radius of me that might want to meet somewhere and split some Subdue Max and/or Clearys and/or Warrior-T and/or Scimitar? I'd also welcome any optional ideas on insecticides and fungicides that don't require frequent applications, since I don't have a lot of free time. Charlie T

CM,
You gotta have your priorities. Give up all that "other" time and spend it ALL growin AGs. It's the ONLY way, man!

What Kilrpumpkins is trying to say is that there are no shortcuts to growing giant pumpkins! Sooner or later, we all come face to face with that fact if we want to grow a "really big one"! I have carefully watched the habits of many of the "heavy hitters", they are totally focused on AG's the year around.

Charlie has been growing for many years, and he's in the process of building a house right now if I'm not mistaken. I believe that's why he doesn't have much free time.

Please! All I was trying to do was to try to find some systemic or long lasting control for insects and diseases. I just didn't want to spend all my time spraying. I didn't know I was going to be chastised for not wanting to spend all my free time tending to pumpkin plants. Lots of growers have grown world-class pumpkins during periods in their lives when their time was limited (Ask Len Stellplug.) All in all, good soil, good seeds and good luck are still the main ingredients. By the way, any interest from anyone to my original text question?
