2nd year grower here and I am using Neptunes for the first time and was wondering how often you guys apply it. Do you continue to apply it after the pumpkin is set? I hear some of the growers just use water after the pumpkin is set. Is this true. Also was wondering what everyone uses for Calcium after pumpkin is set? Would like to find something that is a foliar feed for Calcium and if anyone knows where to find it.
Thanks,

i think the general policy with the liquid seaweed, and possibly the fish/seaweed, is once a week foliar fed, and i DO believe we're supposed to use it from the time the plants are out in the greenhouse. for example, i used the stuff almost every time i watered, but that got expensive, and it was only like twice a week, so not like it was OVER-applied. this time around i've got the powdered stuff from Joel Holland at Holland's Land O' Giants, and although the 22 pounds and 44 pounds is expensive, compared to the liquid bucketsful, it IS more cost-effective. and, he also does have a calcium supplement called Biomin Calcium, which i have not yet tried. and yes, the liquid seaweed/fish is still applied before, during and after fruit set...if you have "How-to-Grow....Volume 2" from Don Langevin, read up on this, as i haven't read it in a while. silly me. Nutri-Cal used here, see Tremor if you're looking to purchase. A link to the product label is....http://www.nutri-cal.com/downloads.htm P.S. Nice potassium fert there also, "Nutri-K".
And try this.....http://www.groworganic.com/ Type in "calcium" in the search site box, very reasonably priced. I ordered some from there as well after someone posted the link in another thread.

PS...if you can find a local fish hatchery in your area they're sure to give away their fish manure slurry. I picked up 150 gallons last week from the high school here.
