tragedy has struck...while making a small adjustment to one of my plants, the !@#$*& thing snapped in two before i could even gasp!!! anyhow i placed captan on the end...any ideas would help...that was about the only thing i could think of...thanks

take a secondary and train it into a new main. take one back aways from the break. closes one is fine. I had that happen last year. Your upset but no need to worry

Happend to my Holland 966 a week ago. Just makes you sick when you come out and look at the last six inches hanging on the ground! Joel said that same as PB...just train a secondary to take it's place.

I think it's happened to everyone at one time or another. I cracked one of mine this year 1/3 of the way through. Posted a picture in my diary yesterday. I will also use a 2ndary to take over. Some people have still grown some big pumpkins this way.

thanks....started training the secondary today...i feel better knowing i'm not alone....it seems sometimes you are sooo careful, then when you least expect it...something crazy happens...good luck out there!!!!

did the same thing this weekend, snapped it 75% of the way through, freeked out, then covered with dirt and watered it. still 3 days later is green and think it is still growing, it was about 2 feet long. hope it stays alive, but will still try to make a secondary my main vine
