What a crazy but beautiful plant, as you might know my 1230 triple vined just close to the stump then seperated at about 2.5' out. The leaves are massive and the vines... well I wish all the plants had big ones like that it even beats the wifes 895 Hester and that plant is just perfect (got to try and get some more of that seed) well the 1230 was straightened out with alot of patients and pruning and now is running a single main, but half the secondary's are throwing twin males and tendels and the vine color is yellowish with dark green streaks. The plant loves heat 33 today and no flagging in the leaves yet the 856 Hester was just about on the ground. Now the females are coming out on the main, 5 of them, two are twins F/F and a M/F and the single one is a nice dark green color the other 4 yellow.
Any one have any 1230 like this or any other plants. Let me know.

My 1230 flat vined on me about 2 feet from the stump and had double leaves and double flower buds. All of the secondary vines coming off the main were also flat vines. It did have large leaves and was a very fast grower with a similiar color main to what you described. I tried to fix the problem through pruning but ended up culling it about a week ago in favor of its back-up plant (995 Carter). The 995 was slightly smaller but growing normally. Hopefully I made the right choice... it will be interesting to see what your 1230 produces...

I had an Eaton plant act very similar a couple of years ago. It ended up blowing up every pumpkin I set on it - I would find volleyball sized pumpkins literally in pieces. The final one developed a massive blossom end slpit around the 400lb range. Hopefully you do not have this problem. On the brighter side, the growth on these pumpkins was very fast - if I was able to control it I think it would have produced a very big one. Good luck and keeps us informed.

I'm growing a 1230 and a 1016 Daletas, which both are from the same plant. The 1016 started a double main at around 1.5 feet from the stump, one was removed. The 1230 split at 8 feet, and one of those was removed.
