I've heard that when you plant certain herbs by certain plants, you can keep bugs away and improve the plant. I was just wondering if there were any herbs or plants that go good with pumpkins.

Radishes, Nasturtiams(sp?),Mint. Do a search on Companion Planting along with the word Pumpkin. :)

Marigolds work great. They grow like weeds, are kinda pretty to look at, and give off a smell that the bugs dont appreciate.

Calendula flowers are great companion plants as they also seem to drive away aphids, plus they bloom all season.

I've never seen a plant or weed the AG's don't like....Those tendrils reach out and grab and wring the little suckers to death....Mighty friendly of em!

I've heard that the herb tansy will repel cuke beetles. I tried to grow a row, but very few germinated.

Two years ago I bordered my patch with Marigolds and found that cucumber beetles were attracted to them.
