tracked down some systemic merit. unfortunately there is no application rate listed for AG's. i have a small area, 10x14, but its deep and well amended. i have a great kuhn plant already making pumpkins. i don't want to apply to much. i'm assuming i use the product as a soil drench. is it too late to be effective and whats the H2O ratio for mixing for my small area. this is my third year, last year was a 200lb even but even with diligent spraying of stems with sevin and visually squishing svb eggs, that i could find, on stems, she suffered greatly from damaged vines. please keep any help with this simple as i'm still learning, thanks-jeff/northboro,MA.

4 teaspoons treats 1000 square feet. You have 140. So .56 teaspoons in waterever amount of water you feel comfortable using. Water it into the soil slow & steady so as to avoid puddles.
Also check the pest forum for more discussion on Merit & links to the agriculture version of this product & the actual cucmber/pumpkin label.

My instructions for a 1000 sq. foot patch using Merit 75 WP were 4 Teaspoons in 2 gal. of water applied to the patch. If you have the same Merit: you need one tenth of the above. I have no tools or knowlege how to break it down for an area as small as your patch. I was instructed to apply one week before planting, again at half the above rate one month later and again at half the initial rate 60 days later. Breaking it down to uses this small requires measuring perhaps by weights or measures smaller than most of us have or can find. Maybe Steve can help.
