WOW thought we would never see it again.....the plants are singing with joy and growing like gang busters....those plants have been busy putting out roots just waiting for that explosion of growth created by the wonderful SUN....plants in high gear and taking on that North West challenge....just friendly North East bantering Stan :0)

934...you actually saw the sun???? Please tell me what it looks like so I will recognize it! It is 45 F tonight here in N.B. and I just covered up my 3 huts. Yes, I still have my huts up. I have not felt comfortable removing them yet, as it has been sooo cold and my poor plants are beating against the sides wanting out. It has been warmer through the day, but the blasted full moon is sure keeping things cold at night. Did you get this cold rain?...cause if you did...maybe just maybe your warm weather and that mysterious thing called the "sun" will come on down here. We also covered up our tomatoes and pepper plants tonight. It is not calling for frost here but the air has a feel to it that I do not trust. One of our gardens is so wet that it is not even planted yet. We have tilled, rowed up...(too wet).... harrowed to get out the clumps with harrows and 4 wheeler....now if and when it dries out, it has to be rowed up again. PLEASE send down some warm weather....

I'm hoping to trade in the oar for a hoe. Saw the sun for about 20 min this evening. Does the saying go...Orange at night sailor's delight? Well not around here....Weatherman says to have 50% chance of rain, everyday, through at least friday.

Congratulations on the sun, we got between 3 and 5 inches of rain last night between 11 pm and 2 am. Have lived here 19 years and only one other rain was that intense.

I put an 18 inch wide walking board in the patch to get to a plant, stepped on the board and it sank into the patch.

Too wet in Georgia:

Flora, thanks so much for the sun. It arrived in great shape yesterday morning! It was so hot, in fact, that it dried out our very wet garden patch. We actually got it rowed up and planted today! The other garden was dry enough last week...but it rained....and rained. It is even warm at night! By the way, my grandmother was from N.H., near Lake Winnapasocki. (spelled wrong?) We do have terrible black flies with the warm weather. Oh well...can't have everything perfect *sigh*. I just load up with avon "skin so soft" which works pretty good.

Glad ya'll are getting sunshine. I'm with Bob, It's rained about 10" here since Sat. Have never seen anything like it. Growth has practically stopped in my patch. I'm worried the roots are too saturated and may develop rot.

Alright!!!Who has it now?? You know what i'm talking about, the SUN. Yup, it's all gone and raining all day and night. DS if it's still with you can you please share? Rain is good and all and everyone needs it. I guess I might not notice that it was raining so much if I wasn't trying to save my plants from drowning. Three years ago I probably could've cared less if it were raining or not but ever since I started growing big pumkins the forcast is a big part of this hobby. Well, i'm not telling you guys and gals anything you don't know already. I'm just rambling on and on because once again I'm stuck inside.
