I can't believe the number of people getting flat/double vines this year...including myself. Out of my three plants 2 have started to double vine. Wonder if it's the cool and wet spring?...doesn't really make sense though, I've had plants double vine before but normally not until the heat of the summer, could be a stress reliever, puzzled though!

Hmmmm...I am trying to figure out just what the term "flat double vines means....." Flat means flat I guess...but double vines??? I guess I don't really know what to look for in my plants. One of my plants main stem is flattish and sort of twisted.....

Ken, Just finished talking with Tony. Everyone he has heard from is seeing a huge agressive 1097.8 plant. I have personaly experienced the same thing you did. I am now at six feet and back into round since the semi-flat showed up. My secondaries are round. I did not even mention this to him thinking it was just a phase. Lord knows we had all kinds of stress getting to this point. He is advising easy does it on the nitrogen. This girl goes nuts real quick if over fertilized. Both he and the AGRO-K representative cut my leaf feeding advise 75% through that cold spell. We will now ease back into one half reccommended normal feeding as the plant warms up with the weather. May not ever get this girl comfortable on a full reccommended feeding level.. Good luck on the grow.

Vine shape is not the thing to look at...it is extra leaves, tendrils, and/or side vines at the nodes that are the problem.....which usually is expressed in a flat looking vine. If the vine is producing normal leaves, tendrils, and side vines, you are ok. I have had completely round "flatvines" so dont be confused by the general vine shape.

Tom, What's your opinion on what to do about dual mains? First time I've had the same issue. I have mains going from exact opposite ends of a couple of my plants. On one, a main is cracked right at the root, but the others they are going strong.
