recently I planted some pumpkin plants in my garden, but I noticed that some of the leaves are turning white then shriveling up, does anyone know what this is?

sounds like possible sun burn. were they "hardened off" before you planted them?

Last year when my squash plant leaves turned white it looked like powdery mildew???

I had two plants whose cot leaves turned a glossy white. I think it was due to overspray from the neighbors corn field.
The true leaves look fine and I think they will come out of it. but, not as aggressive as the other plants that did not show signs of this...Tom

I had that happen last year to my squash and cucumber plants that I had set out. I suspect sunscald. This year they are in my mini huts with the pumpkins. In a day or two I will set them out in the garden. (They are in peat pots) I also discovered millipeds around the root systems of the affected plants. This year I am sprinkling Insectigone in the surrounding soil when I set them out.
