Is there any good way to store pumpkin pollen??? I tried putting them in fridge but they witherd in only a day.Is the pollen still good??? Could I extract the pollen and store it???

AZ,,I have sucessfully extracted the pollen from males and saved in a ziplock and had sucess in pollinating last year..Didnt have much sucess this year doing..But it can work.. J.

i think it would be possible to store them in the fridge if they're in a glass of water, but for how long, i don't know...i cut them off the night before, they bloom the next morning, and i pollinate with them. perhaps punch-in 'pollen storage' on MSN--not sure if it'll work; give a try.

I have heard of some growers say they keep pollen viable in their fridge for 2-3 days. I've heard of others that tried to store it in liquid nitrogen. ... didn't hear the results. Length of viability depends on temperature and humitity. I wouldn't count on it to be viable for more than one day in the fridge.
