Help
My plant is in sad shape. The weather here has been brutally wet and cool. Three weeks in the ground and no growth. 1st week plant lost true leaves which have since grown back. But now the new leaves look yellow and a bit curled. Vine has not grown an inch. Time to get a new seed in the pot or does my first plant still have a chance to recover?

stevo, i would start some new ones just in case. are you using a cold frame to cover your plants? the plants that i have that i did not protect look like how you describe yours to be like. the ones that i had protected look great.

start new seeds---in the meantime get a plastic, 50 to 60-quart clear container to go over the top of it, when it sprouts, with a cement block to hold in place.... i attribute my plants' survival to this method. i will, this weekend, start worrying about the temps inside my (10) containers...anything over about 95 i'm gonna worry about, and i will be constructing 4'X 8' X 16" plywood boxes with plastic over them, to facilitate further protected growth.

Thanks,
No coldframe - Was using a semi-opaque 6 gal. bucket to protect it from the wind rain. Didn't expect the cold to last this long. I'll start another seed today and see if I can devise anything better to protect the current plant.
Thanks again,
Steve
