Paradise Mountain, New York

Last night my son was out on his four wheeler with his cousin jumping jumps they have jumped hundred of times before. My nephew came and got me and said, Brian, Joshua has gotten hurt really bad on his four wheeler. I went in my truck out in the farmers field and there laid my son. His left leg was really messed up.Plus big scrap on his back and other scrapes and cut all over his body. Called 911. They took him out on a 4x4 truck. Anyways, he under went surgery. They had to put a stainless steel rod over a foot long into his Femur Bone. Thats the big bone in your leg that connect your hip to your knee.Never got home until 4:30 this morning. It will take 3-4 months to heal. He's Lucky he is a live. What a bad year. My carpentry partner died. lost some great pumpkins that ddin't grow. Really bad weather. Lots and lots of rain. Hardly any sunshine. Lord knows what else can happen to me with six months left in the year.

Brat, Sometimes bad things happen for very good reasons. These are the trials of life. Without them, we do not grow. Yet during life's trials, it can be difficult at times to see how & where the good will ever come of it. But then one day, the light comes on. It could be behind you when it does. Be patient please. It will happen.
You, your son, indeed your entire network of family & friends may benefit from this in ways as yet unimagined. Life is funny this way.

Our prayers for your son's speedy recovery & best wishes to all involved.

When he's ready, give that boy a hug & remember these words.

Have faith & believe. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I know. - Steve

Brian, I'm sorry to hear of your son's accident. Broken bones mend in time, maybe he'll learn something from this and come out better and stronger in the end. We'll all have pumpkins that don't grow at one time or another. Losing a partner of any kind is difficult. I have had the black cloud dogging me for a year now. My youngest daughter has been hospitalized numerous times and they still don't know what's causing her problems. Medical expenses are eating us up. It's amazing how much a supposedly "good" insurance won't cover. I was laid off from my job in April and am still looking for work. My old truck died on me the beginning of May. And Stan told me last night he has plants with 6' vines while mine are just starting to lay down. I try to look on the bright side though. When my daughter is doing well she is the greatest gift in my life. I still have a roof over my head and a place to grow my garden. My wife still loves me I think. And I was able to buy another truck and dig myself deeper into debt. Antidepressants are a good thing as well if you still have trouble finding sunshine in your life. At least I can't complain about the weather, 83º and sunny at mid day in Western Washington, for June 5th that is a huge bonus.

I didn't write this poem But it has been a blessing to me. I hope it will encourage you. Bad times do get better !

My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me.
I cannot choose the colors as He weaveth steadily.
Ofttimes He weaveth sorrow, and I, in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper and I the under side
Not until the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly.
Will God unroll the canvas, and show me the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful, in the weaver's skillful
As the threads of gold and silver, in the pattern He has planned
