Well, well, well, I've seen beatiful green plants with big leaves shading the ground, in many gardens, I've seen nice watering systems very well planned, I've read a lot about fabulous fertirrigation plans, changing nutrients proportion, I've watched elaborated greenhouses covering the young hopes...
But... I've seen some patches with weeds near the plants, even close to the stumps, and not only one patch, and not only one lost weed for sure.
Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Maybe I have to learn something new about this gardening subject... ?

Yep weeding sucks the life out of competition for the biggest thing one would ever hope, to grow, on the patch. Make yourself a sign: "GARDEN OF WEEDEN" and enjoy the race.

i agree. sometimes a picture-perfect garden is no more if half of it is knee-high grass or milkweed! lol i will probably fall prey to the got-no-time-for-weeding monster also, but i'll try to keep mine in better shape than last year, if possible....have you ever noticed some of the weird plants that come up in your patch from bare soil?? if they weren't virtually enemies, they would be really neat. but they are, so they're not. respectively. I guess those who want to feed only their pumpkins and not other vegetation will be the ones to weed regularly.... They will also be the ones that place well in weigh offs with heavy fruit and suffer less disease and insect infestions.Personally I weed. See you(or maybe not) in the winners circle!

I companion crop with Radishes, and mesclun mix lettuce. So the green you see in my photos gets eaten. It is also suppose to reduce the bugs. Shannon
