My 637 Richey seems to be throwing leaves that are exactly the same, at the same time. They are on opposite sides of the plant. There never seems to be one leaf emerging on it's own. Is this a mutation?
I've read here that this can lead to flat vines. Does that pretty much mean that you won't get fruit to set?

Hey Smitty, Description sounds like a double vine not flat...if the vine is oval might have a tendency to go flat. gonna have to pick the tip of the vine which will have two sides also and pinch one off...see it it comes back to a single...good luck! Chuck

If it continues to do that you may want to let it grow and lay down, but train it immediately to go 90 degrees from the direction you want the main to go.(Just let it vine to the right or left of where you want it to go...) Then take the first secondary that goes in the direction you originally wanted the main to go and use that as a main. Once you've established the secondary as a main, treat the double main as a secondary by pruning the secondaries and terminating it at the end of the patch......G
