I put up a silt fence to keep the wabbits out of my patch, they ate a bunch of my sunflowers. It will also serve as a wind break later in the season

About a week ago I found 7 baby bunnies hiding in a pile of grass clippings. My kids love to go out and look at them, so it will be a couple of weeks until I can chase them out of there!

Don, the word is really rabbit like bunny rabbit. In some of the cartoons it is pronounced funny and sound like "wabbbit" WAAABit.

Wabbit comes from the Great Cartoon Character "Elmer Fudd". He was always going hunting "Bugs Bunny". Elmer was a little stupider than the rabbit.

There is one less wabbit in my patch this morning. Poor thing ran right into one of my pellets. They don't like lead.

Best way to keep wabbits out of the patch or garden is to put rabbit manure in. They are territorial critters and this method has worked for me in the past. Now just to keep the deer out will be another story....Tom

I got pesky wabbit varmints here in Norfolk UK too. In fact my reason for becoming a pumpkin grower was because when I first started to plant my garden 3 years ago the only thing that survived was my pumpkin! the wabbits ate everything else, from lavender and fuchsia to rhubarb, everything was eaten or dug up, even a 2ft thorny rose bush - decimated to ground level overnight! The first pumpkin plant was burrowed mid season. A 4 ft long tunnel 18" below the surface, right under the main stump. Now I dont worry, cause If I do I get really Elmer Fudd, and I aint got time cos they breed like rabbits! Cheers all, Harry.
