With no rain I decided to spray round-up around the boundry of my patch. It was dead calm but I still got within 2 ft. of my plants. Going to be a worrysome few days!! Does anybody think I did the wrong thing?

Pappy should be no problem ..If ya can't cover the plants before spraying roundup. You can always give em a good water hosing down after, trying to missed the spots you want "rounded up"...roundup has to sit on the foilage to take effect. grow em Big Pappy!! Chuck

Drift is sneaky. I would not do this without covering the plants. Read the label!!!!

Roundup is not active in soil. So lateral soil movement cannot occur. Even if it rains before the spray has dried.

But drift can & does happen. You'll know in a few days.
To prevent drift, use very low pressures & work when the wind is at or near dead calm. Plan your path of attack carefully.

Accidental overspray or drift can be corrected by washing the unintended victim immediately with water from the garden hose.

I should mention that if you get wet Roundup residue on your feet, then a walk across the lawn can be rather embarassing. If it happens, grind your shoes into bare garden soil before stepping out. The soil will destroy the Roundup & you'll be safe to walk on the grass. That or leave the shoes in the patch!

Keep us posted. Wishing you the best!

The red dye works wonders on all those little goof-ups! If I do spray on anything I didn't intend, I remove those "red" leaves immediately! Be very careful around AGs, one time I think I hit some of those tiny surface roots that were exposed, and lost a Calai 846!

Uh huh.. it rained the night after I put on roundup...I suspected that was why the weeds just greened up all the better. LOL
