I know this question comes up every year but I want to ask again.
Yellow spots and tan colored "burnt" areas at the leaf edges on brand new leaves indicates....
Nitrogen deficiency or overwatering? Something else?
These are the small, bright yellow spots we all see at some point, not large. The "burnt" areas at the edges are small also.
They're are on new transplants so the chance of disease is slim, they were treated with Captan at germination. It's the first and second leaves, the plants are small.

Out of my first couple of leaves, two were yellowing. I asked for advice, and several people said low nitrogen, several said low phosphorus and one said low potasium. I added 10-60-10 fertilizer. Two days later, my yellowing leaf problem was gone. I was obviously lacking one of the three chemicals, but I don't know which.

Good luck.

Hey southern posted some yellowing of my leaves on the 840 in diary when it come through...the holes aren't the ones I'm worried about but the yellow dotted pattern worries me. The holes I'm pretty sure are burn marks from water drops from the canopy of the cold frames. I'm paranoid of fusaria and although I've seen this before and attributed to improper spraying technique my plants always succumbed after these signs...it's hot enough in the frames and wet enough for an outbreak...

if you look in my diary, i posted pics of the very thing you`re talking about. i applied potash and the spots are gone. i applied liquid ironite to another plant and it is much better also.ironite has a small amount of potash in it so i can`t really say for sure if it was the iron or the potash. since potash hasn`t any iron in it i`m leaning to potash as the cure.

Jeff they are either genetic which is normal ( tiny yellow dots) or can be from too much water....I have them on my 712 Kuhn and I think I soaked the area too much...plant looks healthy..
